Discover Yoga's Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Benefits
The word “yoga” means “union” and refers to the union between the mind and the body. By controlling the breath and holding the body in steady poses or “asanas”, yoga creates harmony within the body. Asanas are specifically designed to sculpt the body, release muscular tension, and massage internal organs. By linking breath with movement, yoga strengthens the mind-body connection. Regular participants benefit from less stress and anxiety, a centered mind, and an enhanced sense of well being. Health benefits include lower blood pressure, better digestion, increased strength and flexibility, better stress management, and long-term weight loss. We recommend a practice of three to five classes per week for maxium benefits over time.
All skill levels are welcome. If you are new to yoga, this is a great place to begin your practice whether you live in Midlothian or in the surrounding areas of Mansfield, Cedar Hill, Desoto, or Waxahachie. Bring your mat, an open mind, and a willingness to discover new possibilities. We recommend wearing athletic clothing that allows you to move comfortably. Our experienced instructors provide assists to support your practice and help you move freely into the full expression of each pose that suits your body. You are welcome to try any class at Crescent Yoga Studio. Please be aware that the pacing may be a bit faster in the advanced-level classes and our instructors don't always have time to teach modifications in the Flow & Power classes. We encourage you to do as much as you feel comfortable doing and know that you can take child’s pose and rest or observe at any time.
Our skillful instructors help experienced yogis go deeper in their practice while respecting individual needs. We encourage all yogis to move towards a mindful practice that balances the physicality of asanas with breath work and meditation. Whether you are new to yoga or have made it a part of your lifestyle for many years, we invite you to enter the studio with a beginner’s mind, removing expectation, and be open to the possibilities of your practice.
At Crescent Yoga Studio, we practice the intention of yoga by treating everyone with respect and love. Our instructors have a diverse background in yogic philosophy, structural alignment, body sculpt, injury recovery, and nutrition. We are passionate about helping students deepen their mind/body connection, detoxify their bodies, heal from past physical injuries and emotional trauma, and empower personal growth.
